Melasma and Pigmented Lesions / Q-Switched Nd: Yag

Some pigmented lesions that are too difficult to remove with IPL as proved by previous treatments may need to be removed with a more powerful laser, like the Q-Switched Nd: YAG. Light energy will be delivered through a laser hand-piece in a series of brief pulses onto the spot to be treated. The light energy is absorbed by the pigment but does not get absorbed by the surrounding tissue. The light energy causes the majority of the pigment to break up into microscopic particles which are then absorbed by the body. Number of treatments and treatment result time frame depends on skin type and nature of pigment.
