BBL™ (Broad Band Light) / IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)
AVAILABLE AT THE BOULDER AND WESTMINSTER LOCATIONS
These light energy procedures are highly effective treatments for lighter skin types. Our IPL Systems can treat pigment conditions like pigmented lesions, birthmarks, hyperpigmentation, melasma, freckles, poikiloderma (or sun damaged neck skin), and sun spots; and vascular conditions such as broken capillaries, rosacea, spider veins, and varicose veins. This system targets highly pigmented or vascular areas in the skin which absorb light more intensely than uninvolved areas. Once the dark or vascular areas absorb the light energy, the body is triggered to remove the target area; in this way, problem areas are destroyed while uninvolved areas are relatively unaffected. Patients may return to work immediately after the treatment and results should take effect one to two weeks after treatment. Multiple treatments are often necessary for full results.
When specially selected filters are utilized, the BBL allows for highly effective treatment of:
- Freckles / Sun Spots (aka solar lentigines)
- Rosacea
- Age spots
- Brown spots, birth marks
- Hyperpigmentation / Melasma
- Poikiloderma (sun damaged neck skin)
- Hair Removal/Hair reduction
In addition, BBL treatments can also reduce the incidence of spider or varicose veins. It can be used to treat:
- Spider veins
- Broken capillaries
- Facial veins
- Telanglectasia
THE MOST ADVANCED IPL SYSTEM AVAILABLE
Finally, BBL can also have a significant impact on scars, strectch marks, laser hair reduction and skin tightening. In general, patients do not need any social downtime after BBL treatments. They can return to work immediately after the treatment.
