Doctor's Profile Picture at Denver Dermatology Specialists

“My passion is helping people,” says Brighton Physician Assistant Wendy Ortiz. “Skin is external, so I get to come to work and help people feel better by treating their skin conditions, which often results in an improvement in their self-esteem and self-image – helping them ‘feel better’ in a deeper way.”

A nationally board-certified Physician Assistant, Wendy Ortiz has worked in the specialty of dermatology since 2003. Providing medical, surgical, and cosmetic skin care to her patients, Wendy takes the time to explain what’s happening, present options, and describe how and why treatments are well suited to each case.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Colorado of Denver before completing the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center’s Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant program. She’s a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA), and the Colorado Society of Dermatology Professionals (CSDP).

“My work at Dermatology Specialists helps me feel like a part of the Brighton community. Loving my job goes beyond helping people care for their skin into establishing relationships with my patients; getting to know them, their families, their friends. It goes deeper than just a patient/provider dynamic; for me, it’s more of a family feeling. Being a part of my patient’s lives is just as important as helping get their skin healthy.”
